Message From The Chairman

I feel privileged to be a part of this extravagant book event that brings together publishers and other participants related to the book industry, from India and abroad.

With over 1800 participants, the New Delhi World Book Fair 2014 is a much bigger event today. It provides a glimpse into the diversity of our languages and the strength of our publishing industry. The theme presentation on folk and tribal literature will help in renewing our focus on India’s indigenous communities, traditional culture, knowledge systems as well as the emergence of a new literary landscape in tribal writings.

The Fair, this year, has added some new elements like business hours for two days, B2B events like Rights table, CEO speak and other features like Author’s Corners, Literary Programmes, Children & Youth Pavilion, Illustrators corner, Children Activity Corner etc. to give more attraction to the Fair.

Poland as the Guest of Honour country will provide a characteristic Polish flavour with new writings, academic discussions and cultural events, which will go a long way towards exchange of literatures and stronger relationship between the two countries.

I am happy to welcome all our friends from across the world who have come all the way here to participate in the New Delhi World Book Fair, an International event.

I extend my greetings to all publishers, exhibitors, dignitaries, writers, students, and book lovers on this occasion and wish them success.
